One system for a hotel's rooms, kitchen and books

We built the one system that runs Hotel Teja: a live room grid, a restaurant POS with automatic KOTs, GST invoicing, payroll, 12+ reports and the guest website.

The challenge

Hotel Teja is a hotel, a pure-vegetarian restaurant and a banquet hall on the Godhra-Lunawada highway in Mahisagar, Gujarat. Like many Indian hotels, it ran on fragmented software: rooms in one tool, restaurant billing in another, accounts and salaries somewhere else again.

Every handover between those tools was a chance to re-type a bill or miss a tax line, and nobody had one view of the whole property at the end of the day. Off-the-shelf tools rarely handle GST, a KOT-driven kitchen and a busy family-run front desk in one place.

How we wove it

  1. 01

    One booking grid, live

Every room and every night sits on a single grid that updates in real time, so everyone at the desk works from the same picture of the property.

  2. 02

Orders that reach the kitchen on their own

The restaurant POS turns each order into a kitchen order ticket (KOT) automatically, and the bill is built from that same order. Nothing is written twice.

  3. 03

GST on every invoice, from the first one

Room and restaurant invoices come out GST-compliant as they are raised, so the monthly return starts from records that already add up.

  4. 04

    Payroll an auditor can follow

Salaries run inside the same system, with every figure traceable to its source: payroll that is ready for an audit rather than reconstructed for one.

  5. 05

    Reports drawn in-house

More than twelve hospitality reports, charted with our own SVG analytics instead of a heavy charting library, which keeps dashboards light on the front-desk computer.

  6. 06

Guests and staff on one codebase

The guest website (rooms, dining, banquet enquiries and a live digital menu card) and the staff portal are one Next.js application on PostgreSQL, secured with JWT-based sessions.
